Nuhi Morina

1103-title

My name is Nuhi Morina and I am 26 years old. I come from Prizren, the city of cultural, religious and ethnic diversity.

I graduated from the University of Prizren "Ukshin Hoti" at the Faculty of Computer Science in the IT department. My activism started from primary school as a civil society volunteer in the community to present day where I have been a participant in various trainings, research, and projects. I have also contributed to advocacy, lobbying, internships, etc.

During my engagement in a project by KEC - "Kosova Education Center.” I was a homework assistant for Roma, Ashkali, and Egyptian children from elementary to ninth grade. This was unacceptable to some of the neighborhood parents as I was too young to be a teacher and to teach. I often heard them say, "Like a child teaching another child," but over time we proved our work brought results and eventually were praised and treated with the utmost respect over five years as a teacher.

My career then took another direction because I decided to study in Computer Science and despite the many challenges I managed to successfully graduate in this field. With a focus on "Children's safety on the internet", with which I also graduated. The organization "Terre des Hommes" supported me in carrying out some activities around it. After completing my studies, I was fortunate to be part of the program offered by the organization, "Roma Versitas Kosovo," which gave me the opportunity to develop further professionally. I started teaching computer science to students who were part of their curriculum in Prizren and Peja. I taught basic computer topics and technology knowledge that you may need in your studies and career such as: Operating System, Microsoft Office, then various seminar papers, presentations, PC formatting, protection against Internet risks, privacy and others.

It is a pleasure and a privilege to be a part of the Teach for Kosova program, where I always had a goal in my life to fight for knowledge and learning. As the saying goe, "A good teacher is like a candle: 'He consumes himself to illuminate the way for others.'"
